Very few professionals can tell whether a course was checked.
CPD Council exists to make that visible. We publish a short standard, check providers against it, and keep a public record of what was checked, by whom, and when the check runs out.

Not a government body, a regulator or a training organisation.
We do not issue qualifications. We do not decide whether an activity counts towards any regulator's CPD requirement. That decision belongs to the regulator and the professional, and verified providers may not say otherwise.
We read a provider's process against eight published standards, open a sample of its activities, and publish the result with the reviewer's name and the date it runs out.
How we keep reviews fair
Reviewers from outside
Providers are reviewed by people qualified in their field who do not work for them.
Related parties labelled
A provider connected to our board or staff is labelled on its own record and does not count towards the 100 founding places.
Outside reviewer
A related party is verified by a reviewer with no employment, contract or financial interest in it. The reviewer is named on the record.
Same rules for everyone
Every provider is held to the same eight standards. Nobody is verified by the people who run it.
Who runs CPD Council
Runs CPD Council day to day: the register, applications and members. Does not review providers.
Owns the verification method, trains the reviewer panel and signs off every decision. Independent of every provider on the register.
Anyone can complain, about a provider or about us
- Within 5 daysWe acknowledge the complaint and tell you who is handling it.
- Within 30 daysWe investigate. A complaint about a provider is put to the provider, who may respond. We open the activities concerned.
- OutcomeNo action, a correction by the provider, a re-review, or removal from the register. You are told the outcome and the reason.
